See below a summary of past years Junior DSD results. For greater detailed past results please contact a convener.

2013 Results:

​

In 2013, Junior DSD was won by Columba 2 (Shanti Girande, Rebecca MacDonell, and Ellen Waite) - who beat Bayfield 1 in the final, successfully negating the motion THS the use of torture to obtain information from terrorist suspects. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were John McGlashan and Otago Girls 2.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Junior DSD 2013 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Louis Jennings, Shanti Girande, Josh Mackay, Casey Brown, Ben Clayton, Ellen Waite, Kelly Stitely, Clara Kwon, Grant McNaughton, and Grace Sempers and Nicole Fleury (equal 10th best speaker).

2014 Results:

In 2014, Junior DSD was won by Logan Park High School 1 (Oscar McGuire, Ben Clayton, and Clair Gaird) - who beat Columba 2 in the final, successfully negating the motion THW mine New Zealand's national parks. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were Columba 1 and Logan Park 2.

Top 5 speaker prizes for Junior DSD 2014 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Shanti Girande, Lydia Joseph, Ben Clayton, Ellen Waite, and Oscar McGuire.

2015 Results:

​

In 2015, Junior DSD was won by Columba 1 (Bridget Scott, Kate Truman, Lydia Christenson, and Lydia Joseph) - who beat Bayfield 1 in the final, successfully affirming the motion THW ban the public denial of climate change. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were Columba 3 and Logan Park 1.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Junior DSD 2015 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Tom Acklin, Lydia Joseph, Kate Truman, George Sabonadiere, Lydia Christenson, Bridget Scott, Anna Roberts, Georgia Francis, James Williamson, and Khaleeda Jaafar.

2016 Results:

In 2016, Junior DSD was won by Columba 1 (Isobel Fraser, Lara Seaton, and Alison LeBuffe) - who successfully negated the motion THW arm the police.

2017 Results:

In 2017, Junior DSD was won by Columba 1 (Isobel Fraser, Lara Seaton, and Abby Bowmar).

2018 Results:

​

In 2018, Junior DSD was won by King's 1 (Samuel Blackwood, Cam Fraser, and Jaydean Washington) - who beat Columba 1 in the final, successfully affirming the motion THW introduce a 50% gender quota in Parliament. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were Columba 3 and Logan Park 1.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Junior DSD 2018 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Robert Donohoe, Samuel Blackwood, Sophie Bowmar, Jasper Seddon and Jody Syme (equal 4th), Angela Fu, Millie George, Emma Jackson, Andrea Austin, and Maddie O'Neill.

2019 Results:

 

In 2019, Junior DSD was won by Columba 1 (Annabel Kelly, Sophie Bowmar, and Charlotte Werner) - who beat Otago Girls High School 1 in the final, successfully negating the motion THBT vegans and vegetarians should actively try to convince and pressure their friends to change their dietary habits. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were Columba 2 and Kavanagh 2. 

 

Top 10 speaker prizes for Junior DSD 2019 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Hetty Finneywaters, Sophie Bowmar, Charlotte Werner, Annabel Kelly, Lily Knox, Ava Reid, Janet Hollard, Sersha Ford, Melissa van der Haegen, and Orla Kelly.

2020 Results:

​

In 2020, after a debating season disrupted and challenged by COVID-19, Junior DSD was won by St Hilda's 2 (Elsie Burnside, Zara Geddes, and Ava Beens) - who beat Otago Girls 1 in the final, successfully negating the motion THW give parents additional votes for each child they have. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were Kavanagh 2 and Taieri 1.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Junior DSD 2020 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Isobel Mckewen, Jomana McLarron, Tessa Smith, Amalie Latton, Jenny de la Harpe, Eliabel Legrand, Orla Kelly, Elsie Burnside, Joanne Brock-Smith, and Anise Maclean.

2021 Results:

​

In 2021, after another debating season disrupted by COVID-19, Junior DSD was won by Columba 1 (Mary Mengel, Bianca van der Haegen) - who beat King's 1 in the final, successfully affirming the motion THW ban zoos.  The other two teams in the semi-finals were Columba 2 and Otago Girls 1.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Junior DSD 2021 were given to the following participants (in descending order):  Tessa Smith, Jessica Lynch, Hasan (Kings High School 1), Bianca van der Haegen, Alyssa, Mary Mengel, Javara Clark, Dre (Kings High School 1), Samuel (Kings High School 1), and Jenah Allum.

2022 Results:

​

In 2022, after yet another debating season disrupted by COVID-19, Junior DSD was won by Columba 1 (Nanni Ge, Alyssa Duthie, Jessica Mundy) - who beat Otago Girls 1 in the final, successfully [motion and side TBC].  The other two teams in the semi-finals were Columba 3 and Otago Girls 4.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Junior DSD 2021 were given to the following participants (in descending order):  Jessica Mundy, Allison Han, Emma Small, Lily Robertson and Phoebe Ashdown (equal 4th), Alyssa Duthie and Lily Falcous (equal 6th), Emily Roy and Isabella Oakley (equal 8th) and Ava van Asten.
