2013 Results:

​

In 2013, Senior DSD was won by Logan Park 2 (Charlie Ruffman, Connor Seddon, and Matthew Scadden) - who beat Columba 1 in the final, successfully negating the motion THBT the right to privacy should always be subservient to national security. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were John McGlashan and Bayfield 2.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Senior DSD 2013 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Amy Wright, Courtney Cunningham, Simon Williams, Yang Li, Nick Robertson, Maura Hewton, Ellen Gipp, Daniel Brown, Grace Cook, Charlie Ruffman.

2014 Results:

In 2014, Senior DSD was won by Columba 1 (Holly Barclay, Selena Ballantyne, and Emily Williams) - who beat Logan Park 1 in the final, successfully affirming the motion THW legalise commercial surrogacy. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were John McGlashan 1 and Bayfield 1.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Senior DSD 2014 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Nick Robertson, Connor Seddon, Meran Campbell-Hood, Yang Li, Emily Williams and Jacobi Kohu-Morris (equal 5th), Helen Prime, Beth Clearwater, and Josh Mackay and Caitlin Addison (equal 9th).

2015 Results:

In 2015, Senior DSD was won by Columba 1 (Emily Williams, Selena Ballantyne, and Shanti Girande) - who beat John McGlashan 2 in the final, successfully negating the motion THBT humanity should actively seek to create sentient artificial intelligence. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were Otago Girls 1 and Logan Park 1.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Senior DSD 2015 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Emily Williams, Selena Ballantyne, Kelly Stitely and Meran Campbell-Hood (equal 3rd), Louis Jennings, Joe Garry, Josh Mackay and Grace Sempers (equal 7th), Beth Clearwater, and Shanti Girande .

2016 Results:

​

In 2016, Senior DSD was won by John McGlashan 1 (Joe Garry, Josh Mackay, and Louis Jennings) - who beat Logan Park 1 in the final, successfully affirming the motion 'The year is 1542, 25 years after the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. You are a devout Catholic lord of a small German town. Your feudal overlord has just converted to Protestantism and has demanded the conversion of his vassals. This house would refuse to convert'. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were Columba 1 and Columba 2.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Senior DSD 2016 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Grant McNaughton, Selena Ballantyne and Ben Clayton (equal 2nd), Joe Garry, Kelly Stitely, Josh Mackay, Louis Jennings, Lydia Joseph and Oscar McGuire (equal 8th), and Beth Clearwater.

2017 Results:

In 2017, Senior DSD was won by Columba 1 (Lydia Joseph, Lydia Christenson, and Bridget Scott) - who beat Logan Park 1 in the final, successfully affirming the motion THW, as an 18 year old voter, vote labour in the upcoming election. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were Columba 2 and Otago Girls 1.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Senior DSD 2017 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Lydia Joseph, Sabrina Swerdloff, Ben Clayton, Oscar McGuire, Bridget Scott, Lydia Christenson, Rebecca MacDonnell, Anna Dawes, Izzy Robertson, and Patrick Hantler.

2018 Results:

​

In 2018, Senior DSD was won by Columba 1 (Lydia Joseph, Lydia Christenson, and Bridget Scott) - who beat Otago Girls 1 in the final, successfully negating the motion THS attempts to significantly limit free speech in public spaces. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were Columba 2 and Kavanagh 1.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Senior DSD 2018 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Sabrina Swerdloff, Lydia Joseph, Lydia Christenson, Anna Dawes, Bridget Scott and Abby Bowmar (equal 5th), Colby Allen, Brynn McBurney, Georgia Francis, and Tom Acklin.

2019 Results:

​

In 2019, Senior DSD was won by Columba 1 (Abby Bowmar, Khaleeda Jaafar, and Isobel Fraser) - who beat Otago Boys 1 in the final, successfully affirming the motion THW ban the contacting of ‘uncontacted’ peoples eg people living in highly isolated areas of South America, Central Africa and New Guinea. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were Columba 2 and Otago Girls High School 1.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Senior DSD 2019 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Colby Allen, Isobel Fraser, Abby Bowmar, Khaleeda Jaafar, Liam Connoly, Madeline McCane, Lara Seaton, Samuel Blackwood, Maita Mackenzie, and Brynn McBurney.

2020 Results:

​

In 2020, after a debating season disrupted and challenged by COVID-19, Senior DSD was won by Columba College 1 (Abby Bowmar, Jody Syme, and Isobel Fraser) - who beat Kings High School 1, successfully negating the motion THBT humanitarian organisations should give funding, resources, or services to illegal armed groups when this is made a condition for access to vulnerable civilians. The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were John McGlashan College 1 and Kavanagh College 1.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Senior DSD 2020 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Samuel Blackwood, Penelope Hare, Abby Bowmar and Isobel Fraser (equal 2nd), Robert Donohoe, Rosa Latton, Lara Seaton and Louis Cavanagh (equal 8th), Maita Mackenzie, and Liam Connolly.

2021 Results:

​

In 2021, after another debating season disrupted by COVID-19, Senior DSD was won by Columba College 1 (Sophie Davis, Sophie Bowmar, and Jody Syme) - who beat Bayfield High School 1, successfully negating the motion THR the allocation of funds to corporations in COVID-19 bailouts.  The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were Otago Boys High School 1 and St Hilda's Collegiate 1.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Senior DSD 2021 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Michael Crosson, Robert Donohoe, Sophie Bowmar, Boudewijn Keenan, Luke Geddes, Ben Hawke, Helena Fitzgerald, Caleb Oakley, Hetty Finney, and Jody Syme.  Congratulations also to Sophie Davis who was awarded 'most promising' and to Lily Knox who was awarded 'best style'.

2022 Results:

​

In 2022, after yet another debating season disrupted by COVID-19, Senior DSD was won by King's High School 1 (John Warman, Ben Hawke, Cam Fraser) - who beat Otago Girls High School 2 (Ella Richardson, Jomana Moharram, Jenny de la Harpe), successfully affirming the motion THR the recreational ownership of pets.  The other two teams breaking to the semi-finals were Logan Park 1 and Columba College 1.

Top 10 speaker prizes for Senior DSD 2022 were given to the following participants (in descending order): Sophie Bowmar, Cam Fraser, Sophie Davis, Jordan Hannon, Zoe McElrea, Orla Kelly, Jomana Moharram, Manaia Burns, and Alexander Sun and Ella Richardson (equal 9th).  Congratulations also to Alice Johnston who was awarded 'most promising' and to Lily Knox who was awarded 'best style'.
